V-TUF Affiliate Code of Conduct
This Affiliate Code of Conduct forms a key part of the affiliate relationship between V-TUF Ltd (“V-TUF”, “we”, “us”) and each affiliate partner (“Affiliate”, “you”). It outlines the minimum standards of conduct and compliance required for all affiliate activities that promote V-TUF products, including pressure washers, vacuum cleaners, and other equipment. Non-compliance may result in suspension or termination of affiliate status and/or commissions.
This Code applies to all Affiliates participating in the V-TUF Affiliate Programme, including independent reviewers, content creators, influencers, bloggers, and companies.
1. Act with Honesty, Integrity and Respect
- Affiliates must conduct themselves with honesty, professionalism and respect toward consumers, competitors, V-TUF staff, and the general public. They must provide accurate, truthful, and substantiated information about V-TUF products and services, avoid misrepresenting or exaggerating claims, and avoid offensive or discriminatory language.
- Affiliates must not engage in unfair commercial practices, including fake testimonials or presenting themselves as consumers.
2. Comply with All Laws and Regulations
- Affiliates must comply with all applicable laws and regulations governing advertising, consumer protection, data protection, and online commerce in jurisdictions where content is published.
- For UK audiences, Affiliates must comply with the CAP Code, ASA rules, CPRs, UK GDPR, and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Affiliates must ensure all marketing communications are legal, decent, honest, truthful, and that no material information is omitted or unclear.
- For UK promotions, ASA/CAP rules take precedence over non-UK frameworks such as FTC guidelines.
3. Maintain Accuracy and Do Not Mislead
- Affiliates must accurately represent product specifications, capabilities and limitations. They must avoid false or exaggerated claims, misleading omissions, unsupported performance statements, or manipulated disclosures.
- Comparisons or demonstrations must be fair and based on genuine experience.
- Affiliates must not create, solicit or publish fake reviews.
4. Responsible Content Use
- Affiliates must use only authorised V-TUF logos, images, copy, and brand assets.
- They must not imply endorsement or partnership beyond the affiliate relationship unless authorised.
- Affiliates must not state or imply they are employees or official agents of V-TUF unless confirmed in writing.
- V-TUF trademarks and brand assets must not be altered in misleading or derogatory ways.
5. Respect Intellectual Property and Third-Party Policies
- Affiliates must respect the intellectual property rights of V-TUF and third parties.
- They must obtain permission to use any third-party content such as music, images, or video clips.
- All relevant platform rules (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.) must be followed.
6. Avoid Harmful Practices
- Affiliates must not engage in spam, deceptive SEO tactics, malicious redirects, cookie stuffing, cloaked links, or hidden tracking techniques.
- Affiliates must not degrade V-TUF website performance or damage user experience.
- They must not use fake urgency (false “limited stock” warnings or fake countdown timers).
- Affiliates must not harm V-TUF’s reputation with defamatory behaviour toward competitors or customers.
- V-TUF reserves the right to review activities and withhold commissions if harmful practices are identified.
7. Disclosures and Transparency
- Affiliates must clearly disclose their paid partnership with V-TUF.
- Disclosures must be upfront, unavoidable, and visible before any affiliate link is clicked.
- Accepted UK wording includes “Ad”, “Advert”, or “Paid Partnership with V-TUF”.
- Disclosures must appear at the start of posts, in the first frame of videos, and next to affiliate links.
8. Data Protection and Privacy
- Affiliates must comply with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and PECR.
- They must not collect or process personal data from V-TUF campaigns without explicit permission.
- Cookies and tracking tools must not be used without valid consent.
9. Compliance with Programme Terms
- Affiliates must follow all V-TUF Affiliate Programme Terms and Conditions.
- Affiliates must cooperate with any request for evidence of claims or demonstrations.
- They must not publish price comparisons unless approved by V-TUF.
10. Sanctions for Non-Compliance
- Breach of this Code may result in suspension, removal, or loss of unpaid commissions.
- V-TUF may take action if reasonable evidence of breach or non-compliance exists.
11. Responsibility for Affiliate Content
- Affiliates act as independent contractors and are responsible for their own content.
- Affiliate content does not represent V-TUF's official views.
