Wax and Dry Vac — Floor Maintenance Vacuums | V-TUF
Wax and Dry Vac — Floor Maintenance Vacuums for Warehouses, Factories and Commercial Floors
Waxed and sealed hard floors — warehouses, distribution centres, factories, retail units, food production facilities — require regular dry vacuuming to maintain the floor finish and extend the service life of the coating. Using a wet vacuum or a scrubber dryer on a waxed floor without first dry vacuuming removes the wax layer and damages the coating. The correct workflow is dry vac first, then scrubber dryer if required, then reapplication of floor treatment as needed.
The floor maintenance workflow
| Step | Task | Equipment | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Dry vacuum | Industrial dry vacuum | Remove loose debris, dust and grit before wet cleaning. Grit under a scrubber pad scratches the floor coating. |
| 2 | Scrub and dry | tufSCRUB scrubber dryer | Apply solution, scrub and recover dirty water in one pass. Floor ready immediately. |
| 3 | Wax / seal application | Mop or applicator — on a clean dry floor only | Wax applied to a dirty or damp floor traps contaminants and fails early. |
Step 1 — Dry vacuum by floor area
Step 2 — Scrubber dryers
A scrubber dryer cleans and dries a hard floor in a single pass — but only after dry vacuuming. On a waxed floor, use a softer pad appropriate to the floor coating. The tufSCRUB range covers walk-behind and ride-on models for every floor area size.
Fine dust environments — when M-Class is needed
If the floor dust is fine and potentially hazardous — pharmaceutical powder, fine chemical dust, fine metal swarf — M-Class extraction is the appropriate specification rather than a standard industrial vacuum. The MIGHTY XL HSV M-Class or tufVAC M-Class for environments where floor dust requires certified capture under COSHH.
