Air Scrubbers & NPU Dust Blockers
Air Scrubbers — Continuous Ambient Air Filtration for Occupied Buildings and Compliance Environments
On-tool extraction controls dust at the point of generation. Air scrubbers control what is already in the air — the settled and airborne particulate, mould spores, chemical contaminants and biological material that cleaning, construction and remediation work disturbs and redistributes. In an occupied building, a clinical environment or a social housing remediation project, an air scrubber running continuously during and after the work is the difference between controlled and uncontrolled indoor air quality.
The V-TUF AEROMAX range of air scrubbers is the ambient air filtration specification answer for the 2027 Indoor Air Quality regulatory framework — designed for continuous operation in occupied environments, with HEPA filtration that captures the particle sizes that matter for indoor air quality compliance.
What an air scrubber does
An air scrubber draws room air through a series of filtration stages — pre-filter, carbon filter and HEPA final filter — and returns clean filtered air to the room. Running continuously, it progressively reduces the concentration of airborne particulate, mould spores, VOCs and other contaminants. In a remediation or construction context, it also creates negative pressure when vented to outside, preventing contaminated air from migrating to adjacent occupied areas.
When an air scrubber is the right specification
- Mould remediation in occupied properties — running an AEROMAX during and after remediation work captures airborne spores that cleaning disturbs. Essential in social housing remediation under Awaab's Law.
- Construction and refurbishment in occupied buildings — dust and VOCs from building work in occupied premises. Air scrubber maintains acceptable air quality in adjacent occupied spaces.
- Healthcare and clinical environments — ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment) requires air management during building work near clinical areas. AEROMAX is the specification.
- Flood and water damage restoration — elevated mould spore counts in water-damaged properties. Air scrubber running during drying and remediation controls biological contamination.
- IAQ 2027 compliance in facilities management — continuous air quality management in offices, schools and public buildings as mandatory IAQ standards come into force.
