ATEX Dust Extractors
ATEX Zone 22 Certified Dust Extractors — For Combustible Dust Environments
Standard industrial vacuum cleaners — including M-Class and H-Class health-rated machines — must not be used in ATEX zoned areas where combustible dust creates an explosion risk. Only equipment with the correct ATEX certification for the zone may be used. V-TUF ATEX dust extractors are Zone 22 M-Class certified — independently tested for use in environments where combustible dust may be present in abnormal conditions.
Zone 22 covers the general areas around grain handling equipment, flour mills, woodworking facilities, pharmaceutical production and food processing where settled dust may become airborne and create an explosive atmosphere. The ATX4500i is the V-TUF Zone 22 specification — with antistatic dust bags and antistatic hose assemblies as required accessories for compliant Zone 22 operation.
The 2027 combustible dust regulatory updates strengthen the duty to demonstrate that dust control systems are adequate and expand HSE enforcement scope for industrial facilities with known combustible dust hazards.
